New Foam Coating
This year we're introducing a new epoxy formula designed for hot wire cut expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam shapes. EPS foam is now the material of choice for mold and model making. Styropoxy is the best way to get from EPS to decorative precast concrete, GFRC [glass fiber reinforced concrete], GFRG [gypsum], GFRS [stone], and GFRP [plastic or polymer] products.
Styropoxy has the following qualities:
• Thixotropic, meaning it holds on to vertical surfaces better than traditional epoxy.
• Easily applied by brush, roller, or gel coat spray gun.
• Bright blue color for quick and easy visual check of application thickness.
• Dries hard to protect EPS foam from harsh chemicals such as solvent-based compounds, and the concrete casting process.
• Can be used for both foam molds and foam models which a rubber or fiberglass mold can be made from.
• 60 minute and 15 minute quick cure version for either long working time, or speedy turnaround of custom cast products.
