The strength of concrete combined with the insulation value of expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam creates outstanding properties in both commercial and residential buildings. Energy efficiency is one of many benefits obtained with these systems.
This slab is built up with expanded polystyrene foam and rebar.
This photo shows a ‘bovadilla’. The bovadilla is the foam section of this common Latin American building system. The system consists of a pre-stressed concrete beam with foam laid between them and reinforcement wire placed over it (as shown). This will be poured in place for the slabs.
